Welcome to Weston, Franco.Blendz Barbershop!

Weston Village just got a new barbershop, and the two guys behind it are exactly the kind of people you want in your corner.

Franco and Victor go way back. They met years ago after switching schools, lost touch like people do, and reconnected on social media out of nowhere. Now they're cutting side by side at Franco.Blendz Barbershop at 1941 Weston Road, Suite 206, home to both Franco.Blendz and Victor.Blendz. We swung by to hear their story.

How It All Started

For Franco, barbering was always the real dream. He was lined up to study electrical engineering, but he couldn't shake the pull toward cutting hair, so he went for it.

“I didn't know if it was gonna work, I still followed my dreams.”

He put in the work and built a loyal following at Newland Barbers down the street (still shows love for that team), then decided it was time to open his own spot.

Victor already knew cutting was his thing, he just hadn't found the right home for it. When the two linked back up, Franco brought him on, and it clicked fast. Victor.Blendz was born, and the duo was complete.

Now they're on a mission to show young people it's worth chasing what you actually love.

What Sets Them Apart

Doesn't matter what hair type you're rocking, you're walking out happy. Afro, straight, curly, Asian hair, women's cuts, eyebrows — they do it all.

“We focus on everything. There's nothing that can stop us.”

Language is never a wall either. With roots in Jamaica and Morelia, Mexico, they move easily between English, Spanish and Jamaican Patois, so more neighbours walk in and feel understood right away.

And nobody's getting rushed out the door. Even on a packed day, every client gets a real 35 minutes in the chair.

“It's not about the money. It's about the quality.”

You're leaving with the cut you asked for, not whatever's fastest.

What They're Most Passionate About

The people, no question. “All my clients are like my friends.” — Franco

And you can tell he means it. Clients are pulling up from Milton, even Hamilton, and kids from 10 to 16 genuinely love coming through. For Victor, it's simpler: getting to work next to his best friend every day, and being part of something bigger in the community. Walk down Weston Road with these two and half the block is waving hello.

What They Love About Weston Village

“Everyone knows each other.”

Give one person a fresh cut and next thing you know their whole family's coming through the door. They also look out for the other businesses around them, sending clients to nearby braiders and stylists for anything the shop doesn't do itself. That's just how Weston moves.

Something That Might Surprise You

Both of these guys have serious soccer chops. Franco got called up to Peru's youth national team program and made it to New York for a competition, before a broken ankle cut it short. Victor played competitive academy soccer here in Ontario, already playing up at the U20 level by 17. So yeah, having the World Cup in Toronto this summer hit different for them!

Stop By & Say Hi!

If not in their shop, catch Franco and Victor at the BIA spotlight booth at the Weston Farmers Market on Thursday, October 1, from 2 to 7 p.m., on Weston Road across from Shoppers Drug Mart. Pull up, say what's up, and maybe lock in your next fresh cut.
