The Weston Village BIA, established in 1979 is one of the oldest BIA's in Toronto. Situated in the North-West end of Toronto, close to the Humber River with its extensive bike trail and walking path, the village has a rich history historical buildings including the beautiful Weston Library.
Weston Village has a diverse mix of cultures and consists of an eclectic mix of over 260 businesses, including retail stores, restaurants representing a variety of cultural cuisines and professional offices.
Weston Village is well known for its Santa Claus Parade, which last year celebrated its 31st anniversary. The event represents a true community spirit with beautifully decorated floats, created by our local schools, churches, social service agencies and businesses. The event attracts over 10,000 people annually and is one of the oldest and most popular Parades in the GTA.
Equally well known is the very popular Weston Village Farmer's Market. Running from the second week of May to the end of October each year, the market is one of the main anchors of the village. The Market offers farm fresh produce, meats, flowers and other homemade products. A popular antiques and collectibles section is also part of the market. Although the market opens in mid May, the official opening takes place the second week in June with fun and festivities for the whole family.
Last year for the first time the BIA hosted the very successful Best of Weston Festival which we will host again this year on Saturday, Sept 3rd from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
This year, for the first time, our BIA joined forces with Artists to Artists for a 4 day Art's Exhibition which ran from Thursday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 26th. The exhibit took place at our BIA office at 4 John Street, Unit 3, Weston (off Weston Rd., first street north of Lawrence). Word famous photographer Sherry Prenovost who was a part of the team, showed off her amazing photographic skills by presenting pictures she hadtaken in some of the most remote parts of the world. The proceeds from the sale of Sherry's work were used to bring support, education and hope to children and environmental issues, in areas of greatest need within Canada and abroad.
Our office hours are on Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
