The Annual Weston Village Farmer's Market

Sponsored by the Weston Village BIA, the market will commence its 2011 season on Saturday, May 14th  at 7.00 a.m.,with an official opening day on Saturday, June 11th.  The market manager says that he is planning on having vendors at the 2011 market whose fruits, vegetables and spices will reflect the variety of cultural groups who reside in Weston.  The market manager also says he is making the market more "kid friendly" with lots of activities planned for the younger generation, especially on the official opening day on June 11th. Our closing day is Saturday, Oct 29th, the same day as the Best of Weston Festival on the same street as the market.  So there will be lots of music, rides for the kids, the Stanley Cup will be here and the Leafs on the Road (a 70ft by 25ft hockey rink - no ice, for everyone to try out their hockey skills).  Please join us.

The Weston Fall Sidewalk Sale and Mini Festival

On Saturday, Sept 10, 2011 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, store owners will have a chance to get rid of all your summer stock.  Make sure you put your sale items out, starting around 8.00 a.m and tell all your customers about the sale.  We will also have live entertainment and lots of activities for the kids.  If you are an outside vendor and wish to rent a table, call Marion O'Sullivan, BIA coordinator at 416-249-0691.

 Looking to Share an Office

The Weston BIA is looking for a business to share its office at 4 John Street, Unit 3, Weston, On.  The office will be divided by partition into 2 smaller offices, with the BIA occupying the front office and the new tenant the back office.  A partition will also be built to produce a corridor from the front door in to allow each office to have total privacy.

There is free parking for one car in the laneway beside the office.

John Street is a great location because of its proximity to the Go Statio and Green P Parking lot and Weston Village Shopping area.

  The Proposed Expansion of the Weston Village BIA

Over the past year, the BIA has been working hard to keep the commitment we made to you at our 2010 AGM - the expansion of the boundaries of the Weston Village BIA, south as far as Eglinton and north as far as St. Phillips.  Things are going well and we have received a lot of interest from business in both the north and south expansion areas.  Our coordinator has gone door to door to talk to the business operators to provide them with information on what BIA's do and what joining forces with the Weston Village BIA would mean.  We have also had 4 meetings with the businesses on both ends and have recently formed a Steering Committtee and appointed a chair.  There will be a meeting with the existing BIA members to get your input and to allow you to vote on the proposal.  Stay tuned, we will add more information as we move along and will deliver an invitation to both store and property owners when we are having our meeting with the current BIA members.
